Current Focus
Mark Morante is Director of Projects for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). In this position, he oversees the Office of Government.

Professional Background
Morante started his career with State Government in 1978 as a policy analyst with the Michigan Department of Commerce and has focused on business and industry deregulation, capital formation and banking and business climate and incentive issues. He has headed several policy and economic development areas within the Department of Commerce, Michigan Jobs Commission and the MEDC.

Education
Morante holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Michigan and a BA in both Economics and Political Science from Oakland University.

Peter C. Anastor Peter C. Anastor

Current Focus
Peter Anastor was recently named Manager of Community and Urban Development for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). In this position, Peter is responsible for developing urban and community revitalization strategies for the MEDC, including the administration of the Brownfield Redevelopment program. Peter also serves as the Secretary to the Michigan Economic Growth Authority (MEGA) Board, which administers the MEGA tax credit program.

Professional Background
Prior to his current position, Peter served as the Program Manager for Brownfield Redevelopment at the MEDC. In this position, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the program including the allocation of brownfield redevelopment tax credits and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) approvals. Peter has also served as a Senior Project Manager at the MEDC where he worked with companies to structure incentive packages to secure new jobs and investment for the state of Michigan. Prior to joining the MEDC, Peter served as a Budget Analyst in Michigan’s Office of the State Budget where he developed budget recommendations for various state departments.

Education
Peter earned a Bachelors degree from James Madison College at Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.al Affairs, the Defense Contract Coordination Center, and Policy.
